Clifford Stoll at TED 2006

Clifford Stoll is an astronomer, computer expert, author, 8th grade physics teacher, and father. In his 2006 presentation at TED, he shares many of his interests, including making zero-volume bottles known as Klein bottles. His talk covers many topics in 18 minutes, ranging from how he was mentored by Dr. Robert Moog to how to measure the speed of sound using the wave equation.

It’s a very disjointed talk, but one of the most captivating I’ve ever listened to. Stoll reminds me of some of my former professors and teachers with his excitement and passion for unique topics. He looks a little bit like some of them too, and Doc Brown from Back to the Future.
