Phishing is still a major problem on the Internet today. Many studies have found that typical Web users are unable to detect phishing attempts. A 2006 “Best of CHI” paper from MIT [PDF Link: Do Security Toolbars Actually Prevent Phishing Attacks?] describes a study that found that many Web users do not realize how complex the attempts are rely on the content of the website rather than the browser toolbar.
