Once
It is a great time for seeing a movie on the Cape. Once is playing at the Cape Cinema till June 14th, and the 9th annual Provincetown Film Festival is June 13th-17th.
Once is described as a “modern day musical” and is the the story of a guy and a girl that are both musicians. The two meet on the streets of Dublin, fall in love, and eventually record music together. In real life, the two actually met in Prague and recorded an album together called The Swell Season. You can listen to some of the songs on their MySpace. Glen Hansard is also the lead singer for The Frames, who are currently opening for Bob Dylan on his tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Overall, a good movie and a great start to the summer movie season. I might not pick this one up on DVD, but I am going to pick up the soundtrack and/or some of the music played in the movie.
