Google Page Creator–It Generates Invalid XHTML!

Google PackGoogle recently rolled out a beta web application called Google Page Creator from their Labs. The application is easy-to-use and one can create a page within seconds. This is no replacement for free online blog/journal sites such as Blogger (also owned by Google) and LiveJournal. All it does is provide the functionality of Geocities (remember that?), but it is a lot simpler and smoother.

Upon first glance, pages created with Google Page Creator look great. They use CSS and minimal HTML. However, they fail validation when checked with the W3C Markup Validation Service! I created a basic page: http://andywirtanen.googlepages.com/ and out-of-the-box it fails validation against ALL doctypes, most importantly XHTML 1.0 Strict. C’mon Google.
