CHI 2006
I have officially applied to be a student volunteer at CHI 2006 in Montreal. I’m very excited about this, because I have not been to the city and I am very interested in new developments in HCI. I would encourage anyone who is a student in HCI or related topics to apply today, because applicants are selected from a pool on September 30th! Brian Ashbaugh, my former office-mate from RIT, and I plan on going together. The only drawback is that student volunteers have to pay for room & board.
In related HCI news, I am now plugging away on my thesis/proposal in HCI on my new iBook. I originally planned to have everything wrapped up by the end of the summer, but that just wasn’t happening. After my job hunt ended in mid-June, I had to adjust to my new location (Framingham), and then I ran into some transmission problems with my Jeep in late July/early August. I am also planning on starting a podcast with my friend Shaun.
